Bathroom Resource List
People have been asking about the different fixtures and finishes I selected for the apartment, so I thought I would write up a resource list of each room, starting with the bathroom. Here are some recent pictures along with a list of items. Let me know if anyone wants more info. (The links are not necessarily to the stores from where I bought the items.)

Day 66 - Light Fixtures
Updated light fixtures were installed in the living room, hallway and bedroom. The fixture in the living room is probably too large for the space, but I think it will really finish off the room. The fixtures in the hallway and the bedroom are the same - the one in the bedroom is a bit larger. They still have to paint the ceiling around where the fixtures were installed (that's why the one in the living room is still covered in plastic).
Day 65 - Backsplash and Faucet
More tile arrived so they were able to finish the backsplash. The right faucet finally arrived (first one that was too tall, then one that was the wrong finish) and was installed so I now have running water in the kitchen! One more hook-up needed for the dishwasher and I will be able to start using it!

Day 64 - Backsplash and More Hardware
They began installing the backsplash tile in the kitchen, but unfortunately I didn't order enough to finish. More should be coming soon though.

Day 63 - Hardware
I apologize that there has not been to much to report the last few days, but things are almost done now, so only a few finishing touches to show you. And that includes hardware that was installed in the bathroom....

Day 56 - Counter and Sink
Meet my new baby. Against almost everyone telling me I am crazy, I went with a white marble counter. It was installed today (along with the sink) and looks beautiful. Since it is more delicate and stains easier than other surfaces, I will be obsessed with cleaning and protecting it (I may only wipe it with a diaper). The stainless steel sink looks good, too.

Day 45 - More Kitchen Cabinets
More kitchen cabinets have been installed and the dishwasher and refrigerator are in place. I decided to face the appliances in the cabinet wood so they would blend in and the whole kitchen would look like one built-in set of cabinets.
I also added a recessed pantry around the corner (in the hallway) for additional storage.

Day 42 - Kitchen Cabinets
They installed the first of the new kitchen cabinets today - really exciting! I went with a very dark, plain, flat-panel style in oak (so they would have a bit of texture). But the darkness makes it hard to see the detail in this picture.

Day 41 - Kitchen Demolition
They tore out the kitchen today and the old appliances have been moved to the patio awaiting salvage pick-up.

Day 25 - Paint
My bedroom is almost done being painted. The brick was repainted white and the rest of the walls a pretty, pale gray. After testing three shades on the wall, I decided to go with Sidewalk Gray (Benjamin Moore). It beat out Silver Lining (too blue) and Feather Gray (too green). Here it is in the bedroom (kind of hard to tell so I tried to get the brink in the shot).
I absolutely love it. Probably one of the only times I have loved the first color I chose and didn't have to go back and repaint. (But the pink bathroom is actually pretty great too.) They are also almost finished with my extra over-the door-storage nook. Looks like it was always there!

Day 21 - Moving on from the bathroom
Although there are few things left to be done in the bathroom, we are moving on to other parts of the apartment. Remember this fabulous arch?
(For those of you who have not been to my apartment, this is a very old before picture of the bedroom. Don't worry, I have not been sleeping on a bed made of just boxes and a duvet.)
Now: the "tribute to the 70s" is gone and the framing for a new bedroom door has begun. As well as a storage nook above - again, all the extra space you can get!
